Sixth Form Essentials

Aims of the Sixth Form

  • To provide you with the opportunity to learn and develop the necessary skills to have a successful further education and working life.
  • To give you increasing responsibility to show both employers and universities what an asset you would be.
  • To achieve your very best examination results.
  • To support your needs outside the classroom and thus allow you to grow as an individual.

Information for Sixth Formers and Students

PLEASE NOTE ALL YR 12s AND YR 13s WILL BE SUBJECT TO A 3 WEEK PROBATIONARY PERIOD WHEREBY THEIR ATTENDANCE, BEHAVIOUR AND ATTAINMENT WILL BE REVIEWED.

Sixth Form Dress Code

A tailored suit (jacket/blazer with trousers, skirt or dress) should be worn by all students:

Females

Tailored jacket with trousers/skirt or dress

Tops – Blouse or shirt with sleeves to be worn under the jacket.

Dress – Must have sleeves and come half way down the thigh when sitting.

Skirts – Skirts must come half way down the thigh when sitting.

Shoes – These should be appropriate for a work place.  No canvas material or trainers.

Males

Tailored jacket and trousers

Tops – Shirt with a collar to be worn under the jacket.  A tie is optional.

Shoes – These should be appropriate for a work place.  No canvas material or trainers.

 

Jewellery

A single small stud or sleeper may be worn in each ear.

No facial/body piercing is acceptable.  (Any piercings should be done at the start of the summer holidays so that facial plasters or other ‘sleepers’ are unnecessary).

Hair and make-up should be appropriate for a work place and no extreme hair colours/styles are allowed.

Lanyards must be worn at all times

Students whose clothing is not deemed suitable will be asked to go home and change, to arrange for a change of clothes to be brought into school for them, or loaned an item of clothing.
